Biography
The following is a brief resume of Master Foster’s martial arts study and teaching experience, outlining his martial arts background (including styles studied other than Kuk Sool Won) as well as his qualifications as a Certified Kuk Sool Won instructor.
Teaching Experience
- Master Foster has been involved in the martial arts since 1979 and has been teaching martial arts since 1985.
- The style Master Foster teaches is a soft/hard Korean martial art called Kuk Sool Won.
- Master Foster has taught all ages and has developed a rather unique teaching style for children’s classes, with the understanding that, 1) the attention span of children is considerably shorter than that of the average adult, so the class must be broken up from time to time with game-like drills that relate to martial arts concepts, and 2) children think visually rather than verbally, so teaching examples must be developed differently than for the adult student.
- Master Foster has also taught ongoing self-defense classes and workshops for women, and has also privately instructed police personnel in California.
